The city of Cheltenham, located in the county of Gloucestershire, is located 175 kilometers west of London, 80 kilometers from Bristol and 95 kilometers from Birmingham. Following the discovery in 1716 of its hot springs, Cheltenham became a favorite vacation and relaxation destination for the wealthy, which has made it a very affluent and chic city.
It is also known for its Victorian architecture, its impressive gardens and for hosting one of the most important horse races on the calendar. The city's population is 105,000 inhabitants.
The program takes place at Cheltenham College, founded in the year 1841. It was one of the most prestigious colleges during the Victorian era and maintains its reputation today.
The campus is located 10 minutes from the city of Cheltenham and offers its students modern and spacious classrooms, a computer room, a heated pool, a football field, basketball courts, a theater, dining halls...
Classes will be held at the school and the student can choose between:
All students will take an obligatory level test on the first day, which will determine the English level of each student. The maximum number of students per class is 15.
Students who choose to do the horseriding or golf options cannot enroll in the intensive program, as the sports programs will take place 3 afternons per week from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
Students will be grouped by age and by sex, generally in double rooms though single rooms are possible. Bathrooms are shared, though there is a washstand in every bedroom. The program includes full board every day of the week. On excursion days students will receive a packed lunch.
The local counselors sleep on campus to ensure that students feel attended to at all times.
The program includes one full-day excursion and one half-day excursion per week, which may include visits to popular destinations such as London, Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath etc.
The program also includes a full program of athletic and cultural activities as well as a program of afternoon activities, such as karaoke, disco, games, arts and crafts, etc., 7 days a week. Students will participate in these activities accompanied by local counselors and supervised by our own counselor.
The group travelling from Madrid's Barajas airport will be accompanied by a Spanish monitor throughout the duration and will return with the group back to Madrid.
