The small city of Canterbury has just over 40,000 inhabitants and represents a city that's small in population but big in terms of symbolic value. Canterbury's Cathedral is located in the historic city center in the heart of Kent. Kent is known as England's garden county and the area surrounding the city has been heralded on numerous occasions for its outstanding natural beauty.
The city of Canterbury is also home to the 20,000 students attending its two universities. Here you'll find all sorts of bars, cafes, clubs, pubs and a modern shopping cetner full of life. This, combined with the charm of its age-old streets, its medieval architecture and its shops, makes this city a fascinating place to discover.
The academic center is located right in the center of Canterbury. It has fully-equipped classrooms, a library, a language lab, a cafeteria, a computer room with free Internet, Wi-Fi and everything else the student could possibly need or want.
During the summer, the school also has another building on the University of Christ Church campus, where classes are given.

Families
The most commonly chosen option is staying with a host family, who will look after the student as if they were in their own home. Families are carefully chosen and offer a friendly and homely environment for our students. Accommodation is in an individual room staying on a half board basis, every day of the week.
Apartments and University residences
Students may also elect to stay in an apartment or university residence (this option only available in summer).
Canterbury welcomes nearly 3 million visitors each year, therefore there is always something to do or see. Many people go hiking near the city, walk the city walls or go canoeing on the Stour river. The cultural scene is centered on the Marlowe theatre, the Gulbenkian theatre and, of course, the famous English pubs that always make for a fun night.
