If you want to enjoy easy-going vibe of a small town without giving up access to the big city life, our partner school in Heredia is the perfect study abroad destination for you.
Tucked between towering volcanoes, Heredia is a popular destination for students who are interested in escaping the hustle and bustle of the city and, instead, getting to konw Costa Rica's culture by living in a typical "tico" town.
On the other hand, the larger towns of Alajuela and San José - Costa Rica's capital - are just a quick ride away. In other words, you still have the opportunity to visit museums, see a play, head to the movies or eat out at any of the cities' countless restaurants.
Our partner Spanish school is located in San Joaquín de Flores, a small town 3 miles from the Juan Santamaría International Airport and the city of Heredia. Not influenced in the least by tourism, it's a quiet setting perfect for experiencing Costa Rica's typical culture.
Facilities at the academic center include 26 classrooms, cafeteria, administrative offices, conference room, library, common areas for relaxing and socializing, hammocks, tropical gardens, 3 movie/ AV rooms, dance classroom and a kitchen, where students can take advantage of free snacks and cooking classes.
Minimum age to study abroad in Heredia: 14 years old for adult programs & 6 years old for children's programs.
