Medford is a historical and tranquil residential district located on the shores of the Mystic River and 8 kilometers northwest of downtown Boston. It has easy accessibility to Boston both by train and by bus, which allows students to enjoy one of hte most vibrant cities in the United States as they study in one of the East Coast's most tranquil and traditional areas. The population of Medford is about 45,000.
Arrival on Saturday or Sunday and departure on Saturday.
The program is held at the prestigious Tufts University. Founded in 1852. This university is the Boston area's second oldest institution and is recognized as one of the most prestigious universities in the United States. The opportunities that the university offers students go beyond the classroom and are unlimited: classrooms, dormitories, gym, pool, computer lab, language lab, theaters, movie theater, etc...
On the first day of class all students will take a language level test (written and oral) to determine their appropriate group. From Monday to Friday, students will have 15 hours of class in international groups of 14 students maximum. In the 3 and 4-week program, students can opt to take 25 hours per week. These 10 additional hours will be taught 4 afternoons a week from 14:00 to 16:00.
Students will reside in university residences located on the campus and just minutes from the classrooms where their classes are held. The rooms are shared between two students of different nationalities, and the program includes a full-board meal plan.
An individual room is available for a supplement.
The university staff offers a diverse program of optional activities and sports. Likewise, the students can also take advantage fo the university's athletic and academic facilities.
The students will discover Boston and its surroundings, visirting places like: Salem, Beacon Street, Walden Pon or the Middlesex Fells Reservation.
Students will be accompanied at all times by local native-speaking counselors.
