About Ardingly College, England

Founded in 1858, Ardingly College is one of England's most famous private schools. The campus, situated in the lush countryside of County Sussex, is found in the small town of Haywards and boasts 230 acres of forests, gardens and its own lake.

Ardingly College has wonderful facilities and a great location- only 29 kilometers from the famous coastal city of Brighton and 58 kilometers from London.

English Course Characteristics

• 15 hours of English lessons per week in small groups of no more than 15 students.
• Classes incorporate a communicative approach using diverse methods, such as group work, role-playing and putting on skits.

Accommodations

The impressive school campus possesses 200 acres of land and various houses to accommodate 500 students. Girls and boys are housed separately and comfortable single or double rooms, with adjoining bathrooms, common spaces and game rooms.

Laundry is done once each week. Faculty members sleep in the same buildings as the students to take care of any problems that may arise and there is always a doctor on call.

Facilities

The school has a large pool, 18 tennis courts, squash courts, large sports fields, gimnasium, television & video, theater for plays and musicals, art & workshop center and a discotheque.

Activities & Excursions

• One full-day visit and two half-day visits per week. Possibilities include London (Madame Tussaud's, the Tower of London, the Science Museum, etc.), Windsor Castle, Brighton, Eastbourge, Guildford and the Hever Castle.
• Admission to one attraction per week
• Full schedule of daytime and sports activities.
• 7 afternoon activities per week
